Kasia’s yoga journey begun some years ago in the place which was to become Dharma Dog Yoga.
She completed her initial teacher training in Toronto at Downward Dog Yoga Centre, where she was introduced to variety of teaching techniques and styles. She has been following her passion by attending workshops related to different movement modalities as well as biomechanics and anatomy of yoga and then translating the newly acquired knowledge into always new and fun classes.
In her class you might be led into balancing on the blocks while in the "baby" tree pose or playing "peek- a- boo" while working on strengthening your shoulders. She likes to work your muscles, especially those of facial expression... by making you laugh.
She has an extensive experience working with women who are 60+ years young.
If you are intrigued, check out her class - there always will be a spot waiting for your mat!
Functional Movement is a class mostly rooted in yoga, but not in the traditional way.
During each class you can expect to experience “dissected” yoga poses, which often will invite you to focus on engaging the muscles you have forgotten about. Some of the sequences will be deliberately slow and precise. Some will make you to test your balance on the different types of surfaces. Some will look or even feel (at the given moment) deceptively simple. All of them will make you to work and come closer to understanding your body.
No matter the pace or the pose, the point is to become stronger, more balanced and flexible in a safe manner, while also having fun – this is the premise of Functional Movement class.
We meet on Thursdays 5:15 – 6:15pm. This class is for all levels - no yoga experience required. Cost is $5.
