Tammie Smeltz is a Licensed Nurse with 30 years experience in the health and fitness industry. She holds certifications in both Group Fitness and Personal Training through the Aerobic & Fitness Association of America. After moving from Doha, Qatar to Toronto, she fell in love with Vinyasa Yoga and completed her Teacher Training at Downward Dog Yoga Centre under the direction of Diane Bruni, Ron Reid and Marla Joy. She continues to study at Downward Dog and is in the process of completing her 500-hour teacher training. She has also completed numerous training programs through YogaDetour including Adaptive Yoga and Movement for Trauma with Jane Clapp. She also teaches restorative yoga, yoga nidra, yoga conditioning and chakra balancing. As an avid runner and cyclist, she understands the importance of balancing aerobic activity with all forms of yoga and exercise allowing the body to work at its fullest potential.
