YOGA NIDRA

Yoga Nidra is a yoga practice specifically designed to promote sleep, relaxation and healing.  Participants will not be awake nor will they be asleep.  The mind and body will rest somewhere between those two states.  During the practice you will follow along with the instructor mentally as she leads you through a guided practice.  This is different from meditation as you are not asked to focus the mind on one single thought, sound or vibration.  In fact, in Yoga NIdra the mind is not focused at all.  During Yoga Nidra you will listen and feel.  Nothing else is necessary.  At the beginning of the class you will be asked to make a Sankalpa or resolution.  This resolution should be made in the affirmative.  It will be repeated three times in the beginning of the practice and three times at the end.  It is said in Yoga Nidra that the Sankalpa will never fail you.  With practice, it will surely manifest.  This class is held once a month.  For September, it will be held on Wednesday September 21st at 7:15 p.m.  The cost is $10.00.

Nidra Flow is offered on Saturdays at 930.  This class consists of our regularly scheduled 60 minute vinyasa followed by a 20-25 minute Yoga Nidra.  Students are free to leave at 10:30 if they do not want to attend the Yoga Nidra portion of the class.  The cost of this class is $5.00.
